The Family International Western Europe: Projects

Aid to the disadvantaged (1)

Ongoing Aid to Saharaui Refugees
We recently made our fourth trip in as many years to bring humanitarian aid to Saharaui refugees in western Algeria. Nearly 300,000 Saharauis live in four camps in an area that is so dry and barren that they are the first known inhabitants.

The Tchuma Tchato Project, Portugal
Family members in Portugal have been involved with distributing humanitarian aid to Mozambique for the last 8 years. This project began in 2000, when Mozambique underwent terrible floods in the Limpopo basin.
Humanitarian Aid, Switzerland
Family volunteers in Switzerland send regular shipments of humanitarian aid to developing countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Africa.
L’Aquila Earthquake Relief
On April 6 a dreadful earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit the Abruzzo region in Italy killing 294 people and destroying large parts of L'Aquila region, forcing tens of thousands of people to flee their homes. Family International members were present to provide assistance.

Visit to War-Torn Congo
During a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo, six policemen stopped us on the street and asked us who we were and what we were doing.

Lives Touched at the Children's Hospital
For the past five years my husband Samuel and I have made monthly visits to the largest children’s hospital in Paris, where we play with the children, sing them songs, or put on a puppet show.

National Activated Retreat, Italy
A growing circle of Activated members in Italy have come to depend on regular area-wide retreats to share news, pray for one another, make new friends, strengthen old bonds, and network on a myriad of projects.
