Medical Projects Move Forward

Rima

Two ongoing medical projects sponsored by Family Care Nigeria have made significant advances in recent months.

The doctor’s residence behind the Family Care Ikota Clinic is now finished. Having the doctor reside on the premises will help ensure around-the-clock emergency care, as well as more efficient services in general.

The dental team continues to provide dental services weekly, ranging from simple cleaning, polishing, fillings, and dentures to complex dental surgeries.

The laboratory, adjacent to the doctor’s residence, will be fully operational soon. All of the laboratory equipment and furniture was donated by Lagos-based companies and individuals in response to our appeals.

The clinic has treated many life-threatening cases free of charge where medical intervention was imperative.

In Lagos, Chuks Achodu, a farmer from Erema, Rivers State, who had been unable to work due to his medical condition, had a tumor removed from his jaw and part of his jaw replaced by an implant. The two-and-a-half-hour surgery was performed free of charge by Dr. Soji Ijidale of Ibadan, Oyo State, who also oversaw Mr. Achodu’s weeklong post-op care.
