Family Care Nigeria continues free medical projects. In April, 2006 we organized and held a week-long, free healthcare project in Erema, a town in southeastern Nigeria. The staff of about 50 included members of the Family International and volunteer medical professionals. It was the fourth such project in as many years that was organized and carried out solely by Family Care Nigeria. We have also worked in partnership with other organizations in more than 70 other free medical projects over the past nine years. The projects we have been involved in to date have examined and treated over 230,000 people for everything from childhood diseases to malaria, pinkeye to cataracts, routine teeth cleaning to oral surgery, and a wide range of general surgeries.
